Empire Uncut Scene 6

I decided to contribute a scene to Empire Uncut, the sequel to Star Wars Uncut, the fan-mad crowd-sourced recreation of Star Wars. If you've never heard of the project, go here to read all about it and see the clips that the fans have contributed: [link]

For my 15 second scene I chose something without dialogue so I wouldn't have to worry about lip-sync. This is the first time I've attempted to create animation of this kind and I just wanted to focus on the basics. If I do another scene, I may venture into the world of dialogue. But for this one, I was happy to simply get the animation finished and looking the way that I imagined it would.

I used the same animation techniques that Daniel Baxter uses for the How It Should Have Ended shorts. My experience creating assets for that series was great training for creating my scene.So a tip of the hat to Daniel for setting me up with the skills I needed to make this happen.

The assets/artwork for my scene were created in Photoshop CS4 and then animated in Motion 5. Sound effects were created using GarageBand and I edited the final video in iMovie.
