He Says The Price Has Doubled by OtisFrampton He Says The Price Has Doubled by OtisFrampton
This is a digital piece featuring a scene set between "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" that shows the moment when Boba Fett delivers Han Solo to Jabba The Hutt.

The original line art measures 7 1/2 x 14 inches and was drawn on Bristol using Micron pens. The final artwork was colored in Photoshop CS4 using a Wacom Cintiq 21UX.

You can watch a recording of me coloring some of this piece on my Ustream channel here: [link]

Oh watching you color that will be nice. I'll have to make some time for that later.

Wow, really nice lighting and colors. Matches the movie perfectly, but really goes with your style, too.

And he would say that.

I love this one. Makes me want to experiment with depth of field more in my own work.

Can't help but wonder...I see over 8 characters in this piece...do you include the characters in the foreground in your pricing?

Such an awesome scene. Have you read the book "Shadows of the Empire" or is this from speculation/memory?

while watching the video online, its kind of difficult to see exactly what you are doing. Don't know if that's the point but a higher res video would be great. Also just wanted to ask a question about your coloring technique, since I couldn't figure it out for myself. When you start to paint in colors to the individual characters how do you keep the color from extending beyond the outline? Do you somehow put each character on its own layer? And if so, are you doing it on the original drawing? Hope I didn't ask too much. Just trying to find a faster coloring technique. I usually color with Illustrator and it takes forever.

This looks freaking fun and awesome! The lights and tones are my favorite aspects of it. And of course the fact that it's Jabba's Palace, from my favorite episode.

Bib Fortuna looks hilarious there! :giggle:

I think you should seriously consider combing all of your star wars pieces into a graphic novel. Star Wars is definitely your best work! Awesome!

Your sense of light here is just beautiful. So am am guessing the protocol droid behind Jabba is probably the one who preceded C3P-O, and displeased Jabba.
