This is a digital commission featuring a minor character who served his purpose narratively by being there and then dying. That's all he was meant to do. It was 12 years ago people, GET OVER IT!!!

*Ahem*

Anyway . . .

The original line art measures 9x12 inches and was drawn on Bristol art board in pencil. The final artwork was colored in Photoshop CS4 using a Wacom Cintiq 21UX.

I am cautiously optimistic since I felt that the writers of The Clone Wars have done a pretty good job. Also if you watch the directors commentary of the episode "Monster" you will hear that it was George Lucas himself who thought of brining Maul back from the dead. My only problem with this is that it seems in Star Wars lore no one seems to stay dead! ;P I worry how much the rule of cool over turns practical story telling. However, as I said this could be cool if done right. It's not like Darth Maul was not brought back in the EU before this series was made. The dude came back twice (albeit non-canon)!

Great work OtisFramton. You captured this guys pure, beastial rage.

Actually, I think that the reason his popularity is back is because of the Clone Wars series apparently making him still alive... :/ I saw the episode where they revealed him to be the brother of Ventress's apparent mate.

And this, kids, is why the people at Lucasfilm fail at a series. They change everything.
