This is a digital commission featuring a gonzo journalist and his cat.

The original line art measures 7 1/2 x 14 inches and was drawn on Bristol using Micron pens. The final artwork was colored in Photoshop CS4 using a Wacom Cintiq 21UX.

You can watch a recording of me coloring (most of) this piece on my Ustream channel here [link] and here [link]

EDIT: I made the glasses more obviously green and red because people were commenting on it as if I some missed that in my reference search when I created this image.

Ha! Awesome job, man. He looks even more like a bamf in your style.

I'm also somewhat surprised that you could capture his attitude so well without having read the comic. Not bad.

Who is this character?

Spider Jerusalem. The lead character from the critically praised DC/Vertigo series Transmetropolitan (1997-2003)

this kinda looks like a still from one of those Genndy Tartakovsky animations like samurai jack. in other words, NIIIIICE!

Man, I love this. I picked up my first Transmet two days ago, and I'm already obsessed.

The adaptation you used to move the character to your style is righteous.

Great character, I love that comic. Kickarse background on this one, I can see the influences of the original artwork, but you've put your own spin on it.

Great work!

Wonderful. Best I like the light effects and just the colour, though the glasses are a bit too bright but I believe it's OK, anyway the picture looks awesome.

I haven't read the comic yet, though it's in my to-read list. Is it worth? I guess it's a stupid question but still.)
